FEEL INSPIRED & MOTIVATED

“This is better than a holiday abroad because you get to be with Muslims. You get to listen to famous speakers, you go to seminars, you get good food and it’s just an overall nice experience mashaAllah.”
– Esa Khan

The concept of Love, Hope and Fear, referred to as Arkān al-Taʿabbud (Pillars of Servitude), constitutes a fundamental trio within Islamic spirituality and ethics.
These three emotional and psychological states are deemed crucial in the life of a Muslim, serving as the primary forces that shape the relationship between the servant and their Lord. To gain a more comprehensive understanding, we will also examine contrasting emotional and psychological states that significantly impact us, either positively or negatively, such as hate, courage, and despair.
These additional states are integral to the full spectrum of human experience within the Islamic spiritual and ethical framework.
Allah ﷻ has praised the Prophets, stating,
"They used to race towards the good deeds and invoke us with hope and fear; and they were humbly submissive to Us"
(The Qur’an 21:90)

“The heart in its journey to Allah is like a bird. Love is its head, and fear and hope are its two wings.”
(Ibn al-Qayyim)
Just as a bird relies on a healthy head and well-functioning wings to soar gracefully, our hearts depend on the perfect balance of love, fear and hope to navigate the path to Allah.
Join us at the Family Retreat to delve into this profound journey of the heart, as we explore the harmonious interplay of these vital provisions: love, fear and hope, echoing the graceful flight of the bird.
“MashaAllah, all the mashaykh delivered from the heart because you could see that in every other lecture, everyone was tearful. The lectures were really good. The panels were really good. The seminars were really good.”

So, what’s planned for this retreat?
At Family Retreat UK, we are dedicated to creating an immersive and engaging experience for children, empowering them to build Jannah whilst having fun!
We believe in nurturing their faith and providing them with a strong Islamic foundation.
That’s why at this retreat, we focus on interactive educational sessions, public speaking workshops, Quran workshops, story time sessions and Islamic discussions led by knowledgeable youth specialists.
These experiences aim to deepen their understanding of Islam, strengthen their connection with Allah and equip them with the tools they need to navigate the modern world.
But don’t worry, in between the study sessions we have some fun and exciting activities lined up from the Arcade Games and Bouncy Castles to Martial Arts Boxing and Swimming!
A parents and toddler room has been allocated for all the parents to let their young ones play indoors and enjoy themselves. A variety of toddler toys and play activities will be provided. This room will not be staffed and parents will have to supervise their children at all times. The room will have a live feed so you won’t miss out on any lectures and will be open during the morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
Our dedicated Children’s Programme is the perfect place to stimulate and nurture Islamic characteristics with our carefully selected volunteers. With a host of activities on offer, the Children’s Programme is engaging, accessible, and inclusive, with activities devised to support the retreat’s theme as well as our Islamic ethos. The children have immense pleasure singing and preparing for a full on-stage performance! That’s right; your kids will be singing their little hearts out to the audience on the final day! Needless to say, with all the happy tears and tantrums, there’s never a dull day in the Children’s Programme!
Our dedicated Youth Programme is the ideal place for our youngsters to come and have fun whilst being engaged in thought-provoking discussions that rejuvenate the mind and instil spiritual awareness. They will leave the retreat more confident in airing their thoughts and views in a respectable and grounded manner. This is after having loads of outdoor fun activities! This is the perfect place to send your kids for inspiration.

Family Events will act in loco (in the place of a parent) from the published start time of the activity until the published end time. We are NOT in loco parentis for the child before or after the published times for activities or drop off.
Parents or guardians have to collect their child on time, tell us anything they feel we should know about their child and be aware that visits to the toilet are in a public building that is used by all. If parents or guardians have concerns about this, they are welcome to wait for and supervise the child during toilet visits or breaks. Note that Family Events cannot be responsible for any loss of valuables and that Family Events reserves the right to exclude any child whose behaviour disrupts the work of the group. Family Events has the right to decline over medical concerns or the inability to cater for the specific needs of the child. If a child leaves the building without permission, Family Events cannot be held responsible for the child’s safety.
Family Events will be filming and taking photos of the event and the children are likely to be photographed or filmed by Family Events, understanding that these images may be used in marketing Family Events future events. If you do not want your child to be filmed or photographed you will need to notify us but this may mean your child is excluded from certain activities. Family Events will allow its Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy on all participants. The information provided on this form will be kept on file and is confidential.
One of the highlights of our Family Retreats is the beloved awards ceremony, a cherished tradition that brings our community together. Join us on Monday morning at 9:00am for this heartwarming event. Special members of each age group will be honoured with awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements in a diverse range of categories. It’s a moment of celebration and appreciation for all the remarkable individuals who have contributed to making our retreat truly special.
“This is an amazing opportunity for parents to recharge their Eman, for them to hear beneficial things whilst knowing that their kids are in a safe and protected environment and are actually implementing wholesome activities that are from the Sunnah of our Prophet.”
– Ayyoub

Answer: When you book the accommodation, the price includes full board meals and all the lectures and activities over the weekend. Question: How many beds are there in the hotel rooms?
Answer: There is either 1 double bed or 2 double beds in each room. Additional people will need to bring sleeping bags or other sleeping materials to sleep on the floor of the hotel rooms. We recommend you bring your own travel cots.
Question: My family is much larger than 2 adults and 3 children and I cannot get different rooms for my young children, what shall I do?
Answer: Please contact our Sales department and they will help you as much as they can to make it practical for your family, insha’Allah. Call us on 020 3743 8484.
Question: Will we get towels and other toiletries in our rooms?
Answer: This will be for the number of beds in the room only. Additional bedding, blankets and pillows will not be available.
Question: Do the rooms have kettles?
Answer: All hotel rooms have kettles.
Question: Do the rooms have fridges?
Answer: The hotel rooms do not have fridges.
Question: Can I reserve my room or my child on the youth programme without paying now?
Answer: No, all bookings are on a first-come-first-served basis and there are no cancellations or reservations.
Question: I cannot pay it all at once, can I pay some now and some later?
Answer: We have always had a policy never to close doors to those who are unable to afford our programmes. We can arrange a payment plan for those who need it and get discounts sponsored insha’Allah. But these are all assessed and you would need to contact us by email to begin the assessment process, registration@lovehopeandfear.com. Please remember we too are a not-for-profit organisation and rely upon donations, but we assure you, we will try our utmost to help you, insha’Allah.
Question: I did not book my child on the Youth Programme when I booked my rooms, how do I add him or her onto the programme?

Answer: Yes, the programmes are fully segregated above the age of 12 years old.
Question: My child is just under 4 years old and is really independent, can he/she please join the Youth Programme?
Answer: We apologise but the team organising the children’s weekend of activities have explicitly said they will not be able to cater for children under 4 years old. We do not recommend very young children being away from their parents for such long periods as we believe it is not good for their emotional development.
Question: I don’t want my child doing a specific activity.
Answer: We respect individual choice, but this may mean that you would have to collect your child for that period.
Question: What happens at lunchtime, do our children get lunch on the programme?
Answer: Parents are expected to collect their children and take them for lunch. Unless we have made a specific arrangement for some of the older children, parents must collect their children. Children who are not collected will not be allowed to continue on the programme the following day.
Question: What if you need to contact us in an emergency?
Answer: We will be taking all parent mobile numbers. Children who cry for long periods and need their parents will be asked to join their parents outside of the programme. Parents who do not pick their children up will not be allowed to bring them the following day to the programme.
Question: Do I need to bring any special clothing?
Answer: Closer to the event, our Events Team will be in contact with you to give you more exact details. But we expect you to bring a spare change of clothes, warm outdoor clothes and shoes as well as swimwear. We do carry out all activities regardless of the weather conditions.

Answer: Day visitors will only be provided with lunch and dinner on the days they have booked.
Question: I cannot book Friday or Monday, are there no lectures on those days?
